Stefan After Dark
| I suppose a general overview of what I'm all about is in order, so here it goes: I've long had an interest in various artistic mediums, including photography. I am a former model, but outside of posing for my own personal and professional agendas, I never particularly enjoyed it all that much. These days, I'm more interested in working behind the camera. I haven't pursued it much to this point, as I've been busy working on my business as well as a new musical project; I also need to purchase a more professional-quality camera at some point. As far as what I'd like to do with photography, I'd like to shoot female models, natural and industrial landscapes/structures, surrealist photos, and get into some urban exploration as well. It's been very inspiring to view and study all the great Deviations upon this website, and I highly recommend anyone reading this to check out my Favourites section to see a whole barrage of excellent photography work by various talented individuals. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, and I've also lived in Denver and spent a lot of time in Southern California as well. I currently live in Little Rock, Arkansas and, yes, I often do find it at odds with my creative, intellectual, and Libertarian-esque sensibilities. I plan on relocating to the Los Angeles area within the next couple years, as I've always enjoyed my time spent in L.A. as well as New York City. For the past 7 years, I've worked as an exotic dancer for female audiences (I'm currently the only one in the entire state of Arkansas) and I own an exotic dance agency (also currently the only one in the entire state of Arkansas). I definitely enjoy what I do, and taking my clothes off for intoxicated women throwing money (and, sometimes, themselves) at me is not a bad way to earn a living. I've been a professional musician for quite a few years now. After an extended hiatus, I've recently started working on a new musical project: a band named Mode Nouveauxx which can be best described as synthesizer-driven dance-rock featuring my lead guitar prowess and baritone vocal stylings. This band is a studio-only project for the time being, as I have no plans to perform live anytime soon. For my musical influences, please check the info section of my profile. I'm also interested in filmmaking, and have racked up a limited amount of experience to this point on both sides of the camera on a few projects which, due to the involvement of others, have been largely forgettable. If nothing else, however, I have learned what NOT to do when it comes to filmmaking. I plan in the not-too-distant-future to write and direct a very low-budget feature-length film. I'm not sure what exactly it will be about, as I currently have a few different screenplays in the works, but it will definitely be something very sexy and stylish with great emphasis upon visuals and music. As per my info section, my biggest directing influences include: David Lynch, Paul Verhoeven, Michael Mann, Brian DePalma, Federico Fellini, and Dario Argento. Outside of that, I've also worked on other media-related projects. I recently attempted to launch a monthly publication in the Central Arkansas area focusing on arts, entertainment and nightlife, but it just seemed to go over the heads of too many people in this area (see my comments above regarding Arkansas). I'm now looking into developing the project into something for broader and nationwide consumption, but that's still a lot of time and capital away from happening. In the meantime, I'm considering using the corporate entity I've already set up for professional projects related to other mediums such as graphic design and video production.
